About Torque Power

André Matheson started in the industry in 1975 sweeping floors and completing several maintenance tasks at a local Suzuki, Mercury and Stihl dealership. In late 1977, Andre progressed within the industry and began a career as full time mechanic, working on all small engines.

In approximately 1979, When Volta/Electrolux bought Husqvarna AB to Australia, Andre was instrumental in founding Husqvarna in Ballarat, with the help of sales representative Ian Wilkes. From there, Andre was then involved in Victoria’s first ever sales conference and began becoming involved in future service schools and training workshops and more demonstrating Andre’s knowledge and expertise that he has acquired through his many years in the industry.

In early 2003, Andre bought the Torque Power business and in 2006, moved into the current building and residence at 1015 Howitt Street. In 2006 Torque Power introduced the Husqvarna motorcycle range to Ballarat for the first time. Andre and his staff have great passion and respect for the Husqvarna Brand and its established 300+ year history. Torque Power stocks a large range of all Husqvarna products and employs three service technicians for the maintenance of all Husqvarna equipment.
